PPG MEETING 1300 29 JANUARY 2024

MINUTES from 30 November agreed and points taken forward

PATIENT NEWSLETTER to be introduced monthly from February

Contents data such as 14000 telephone calls received, 12000 face to face (FTF) appts and 157 telephone appts made with 423 not attending (DNA) between 2/10 – 3/12 23

LHS health check offered to all 40 – 74 year olds with no existing conditions every 5 years (over 74, surgery isn’t paid for so not offered routinely)

PPG information

Information to support patients, with details of NHS app and help sessions at 3 sites

Newsletter will be on website and link sent by text plus copies will be on desk

UPDATE ON BUILDING WORKS

Slightly behind, but all but waiting room, Dr Sagar room and one treatment room to be finished by 2 February

Waiting room to be completed over the weekend of 3/4 February then outside to be sorted

GP ATENDING PPG MEETING

Still aiming to attend, but PPG suggested we choose suitable topics to be discussed to avoid GP attending whole meeting and using their expertise

Suggestions: Named GP explained – they are essential for registration and patients are shared between GPs on registration, but patients don’t have to see them

How can PPG help practice?

Complaints may not be clinical, in fact there are few of these Comment made that sometimes it seems as if clerical staff answer queries instead of directing to the correct person

Physician Associate role explained there has been some bad press but Vish explained that they are recruited then mentored closely and are PG trained

Also FCP (physio) can be first point of call

GP recruitment and retention an=t practice is good because it is a training centre
